Have you thought about adding old school modems to that list? We've come a long way from telephone couplers, BBSes and Compuserve in terms of how we get online and communicate. +++ ath

I don't know if I'd use the word "fantastic". In many ways, I feel that the Windows and Android clients in particular are still second class citizens compared to their Mac/IOS counterparts.

Here's a recent experience I had with them... When you have sync issues, the workaround in the absence of a Force Sync button (which used to exist ) is to create a dummy secure note or to log out and log in again. Most users won'

If someone is thinking of doing it because they watched Pet Fooled on Netflix, I advise that they do additional research first. Raw isn't necessarily better or worse, but best to make as informed a decision as possible. I pasted this l

For some use cases, you can use Keytar ( https://github.com/atom/node-keytar ) which uses the credential system/keychain on the OS.

I had portable cassette players that would rewind or fast forward to the next blank spot between songs. It was slow, crude and limited to the next and previous track, but it did work well in the era before CDs.

I used to buy leaderless cassettes and I had no issue with auto reverse on my portable cassette players.

Really? That's interesting. I don't have that experience running Rails on Windows. Having said that, I do use thin for my development instance, so maybe that's why.

FWIW, when I switched from Mac to Windows, I was able to still do Rails development in Windows itself (I guess it ultimately depends on your Rails app complexity and the gems you rely on) and deploy my solutions to Linux servers. This was b

I have only one laptop that had an "expanding" ethernet port (a Lenovo), and it's not great. It's the first flaky built-in ethernet port I've ever had in a laptop.

Yes, but when you're trying to position something precisely, that's a problem. This doesn't happen when you have a physical button that only has an on/off state. Keep in mind, I hate trackpads because I'm generally

I have always found strange things to happen when my held down finger (on the "virtual button") moves too much or changes pressure - on both Windows and Mac. That's just one more thing to think about in the back of my head. I

They aren't for me. While I would say Macs have always had excellent pads, I still hated them. I want to be able to have a finger on a physical button that doesn't detect any touch movements when dragging something.

The problem has less to do with dongles than having a diverse product line catering to multiple user types. Apple has basically decided to make all their laptop lines ultrabooks (which is their prerogative). And because a lot Mac users are
