I assume you are making a case in good faith. Saying the satellites were lost because of the geomagnetic storm could imply that the satellites suffered some sort of electronic damage. Which, as I understand, is not what happened. That is wh

The storm is a single event in a chain of events that caused the satellites to fail. It's not the direct nor the first cause.

I wonder if terraforming is possible, not because of technological limitations but just because of the limitation of humanity's ability to execute such large scale projects. Given an unlimited amount of raw materials and energy, terraf

As a die hard unix fan being forced to work on Windows, git bash is a godsend. Sure now you have WSL and countless other options but git bash is one click away and works surprisingly well.

Ok so what's slower is the JS engine which is a more reasonable claim. My experience is it depends on the types of work your doing but in general, indeed, chrome seems faster. But Firefox has improved a lot with quantum.

I didn't know that. Why would firefox be slower than say chrome when if you use WebGL, the work is being done by the GPU anyway?

In a 4-stroke engine, throttle or not, intake valves are shut down when in compression so cylinders are sealed off, compression happens anyway, diesel or gas. Indeed, in 2-cycles engines there are not intake valve so LinuxBender's poin

Interesting. But what do you mean by 4 cycles. The diesel engines I know all have 4 cycles. I though 2 cycles engines were found on old tractors from the 50s no? Edit: Looking at [0], assuming this is true, I understand the confusion now. I

Diesel engines might not have throttle plate but they use injection which certainly do not inject air when acceleration is released, so the cylinders will act exactly the same way. Reading the web I see conflicting account on this subject.

Diesel engines do not have engine breaking? Are you sure? For me, engine breaking is just the fact that the engine, without power, have moving pieces which, by inertia, is going to slow down the vehicle. Diesel engine being heavier than &qu

Nobody was harmed in the Milgram experiment. That's the whole point of the experiment. It is to fake harm. The one seemingly receiving the electric shock is an actor faking pain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgr

I believe .NET was not open initially. Moreover, there are some patents involved I believe. Add to that the general distrust of Micro$oft among the open source community (especially in 2001).

This article is interesting but not rigorous I think. * The inverse of a geometric shape makes no sense. We only inverse operations. * aa^-1 = 1 only if you consider the multiplication over reals. * 1/0 is not equal to infinity. Becaus
