Since they released Notes with 10.8, its pretty much replaced Notational Velocity for me. Search isn't quite as fast but syncing via iCloud is awesome. Now with AirDrop its super nice, being able to quickly send a note to someone els

For a PA system? I'm pretty sure all of that is using transistors now. For a guitar amp, I hear you (though I also think the quality of things like guitar rig in the last few years have started to sound pretty believable)

Don't know about public opinion on life imprisonment for minors, but the death penalty still has support from a majority of polled Americans [1]. I'd say it might be 'old' just because the UN passed this almost 25 year

sublime and notepad++, sure. I doubt, though, that they think they're going to move many away from using a full-blown IDE like NetBeans, Eclipse, Intellij, etc.

Do you use any open source libraries at work? Are they flawed? Write good bug reports and get involved in the community. It's not building up a patch portfolio (I should trademark that) but it shows that you're paying attention

Except using indexes is a major part of developing for a database. In many simple schemas, performance will completely break down without proper indexing. That's a bit different than spending time investigating if for-each is faster
