Right I expect anyone that just graduated 1 or 2 years ago to be able to write it in 15 minutes. But someone who is an expert in machine learning or SQL ... and have not used data-structure for the past 20 year would need to study for it. D

did you really expect someone that have a bachelor or master degree in computer science to not know how to do this. Or you just wanted to not hire someone if it took him more than 10 minute to do it on a whiteboard?

if you associate Black people with literal monkeys you are the one that is racist. All the book is explicitly saying is that it would be a good idea to hire a person of African origin to work at the zoo. This have some logic to it in a chi

I understand the main problem with the book is the "China man" Caricature. Can someone (ideally Chinese) explain why it's offensive? Is it more offensive or racist than a painting like this https://imgur.com/a

you have a good point about http request size. But any high performance framework would not buffer the whole request to later parse it. it will do incremental parsing. Meaning you don’t need to read all the bytes from the tcp socket before

would it scale better if we set innodb_sync_spin_loops=0 ? Causing the lock to not spin and give up the pending CPU cycles back to OS if the lock is not available.

I assumed they would spin for only a short period of time only then fallback to a real lock. This is usually done to avoid blocking the thread before the end of it's time slice if there is a chance the lock would become available. If i

the problem is lot of the incentive to contribute for free is the name recognition. Lot of dev see it as a way to show what they can do (portfolio) because that can’t share the code they produce at work
