Well sure. Isn't everything a series of events leading to something? Even my own existence is a series of events: parents born, meeting at the right moment, having sex at the right time...

Actually, 12 per hour is about 1900 a month. Not bad. Here in Italy, I'm doing development work at a University for far less than that.

I used to think this of software development. The problem is that when I started doing it "because I had to" instead of "because I wanted to" it took all the fun out of it.

Wow really? Well I hope you thought it through and didn't just rely on a "stranger's comment" for this decision. In any case, I wish you the best and trust you'll have the skills to find something you really love -

If you're happy why change? Yes change is almost always good. But it's similar to saying that you should leave your girlfriend simply because you've been with her for too many years. Think of a job as a relationship. If it&#x

I'd rather use a proprietary software running within an open sandbox I know and trust which asks me permissions for anything it does, rather than an open source software which can do whatever it wants anytime it wants.

I don't really understand this article. JavaScript is less of a trap than regular software: the code is running in a much less capable sandbox. This means that unlike unfree software which behaves against the users' rights, or aga

Surely the future of the Web will be a decentralized one, without a single point of failure. No matter the policies or laws we have in place, this will continue happening somewhere. We need to fix this from a technical point of view if we t

I find myself in the exact opposite situation. Been working for industry since I was 18 and am 28 now. Never got a degree. I'm tired of working in a consumer setting where everything has to be faster, better, more pleasing for the clie
