Google has a history of faking their Gemini demos, even if this demo was impressive (it's not) I would feel the same way about it. Yeah, it will get better in time like self driving cars, quantum computers, super conductors, nuclear fu

Fraud aside, how do people invest so much money into something without doing their diligence on the product? Reading the indictment looks like there were many red flags, like not giving access to the "automation rate dashboard". N

Any concern that something like this could make it easier to discriminate against certain groups of people? Or how this might tip towards appearance-based bias or age bias when making decisions on who to interview?

Was it ever? Twenty years ago I had a boss that told me he cuts every estimate engineers give him in half and the work always gets completed on time, never mind the terrible quality and massive amount of bugs.

Use AI to generate AI prompts while you continue on with your normal work. How will they know if your code was not written by AI? The "look at Tom" thing isn't new, there have always been sloppy engineers that crank out bad c

AI is far better at regurgitating facts than me even if it's lossy compression but if someone gives me an api doc I can figure out how to use it without them writing a wrapper library around the parts that I need to use to solve whatev

The whole MCP hype really shows how much of AI is bullshit. These LLMs have consumed more API documentation than possible for a single human and still need software engineers to write glue layers so they can use the APIs.

What mainstream language has type system features that make multi-threaded access to external resources safe? Managing something like that is a design decision of the software being implemented not a responsibility of the language itself.

Your never going to catch 100% of issues, human or AI review, but I've found that in code reviews a lot of the benefit is when people ask questions about the code being reviewed and have a discussion on it. Is the AI tool going to ask
