About evenly spread both sides of the Iron curtain, I’d say. Lots of demoscene in eg Germany, Scandinavia too. Netherlands, UK and France also have sizeable (though smaller) scenes.

Just to clarify for readers who didn't read the interview, not a live set, it’s a 64kb demo that looks and feels like a recording of a livecoding competition. So “live set demo” is technically correct because it’s a “live set” themed d

Cool story! If I may rant off topic a bit though, it boggles my mind that people put stuff like this: > [This patch] fills holes in executable sections with 0xd4 (ARM) or 0xef (MIPS). These trap instructions were suggested by Theo de Ra

I feel like the JS community solved this problem by and large by standardizing on Prettier. Love it or hate it, there's nearly no discussions of the kind the article is about anymore. Have an opinion about automatic semicolon injection

It’s… just the common name for this way of getting things done (as far as I know at least). Propose something preposterous, so drama ensues and it gets watered down, but in the end you still get more than you would’ve otherwise. I believe t

It's standard Trumpian negotiation. Ban lots of books, outrage ensues, courts get involved, some books get unbanned. But not all!

I agree with you but I don’t think your confrontational tone is helpful. I think this comment does roughly the same thing, better: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44890782

I'm not a native English speaker, but to me "try and" has always conveyed a sense of more deliberate trying, of getting over yourself, in the sense that the "try" means the choice to give it a real proper go. So fir
