This is very interesting to me and my work on tracking health issues and pop culture on social media. I'll email you to see if someone else hasn't already gotten to it first!

You're probably best off writing your own software so you can diagnose issues as they arise.. but I had people use http://sharedcount.com/documentation.php at my employer before we wrote our own processes to do it for us

This is good news - thanks guys. I tried www.recon.io out for my project a few months ago and it was great but I think my trial expired or something. Going to take a look at it again and take advantage of the startup plan. Cheers, @Skram of

I use FastMail for my personal domain name and would recommend it for personal or business use. They continue to improve the UX and post occasional techie blog posts. I've been happy with them for many years.

I feel like this is a question I ask myself with every FB app I "connect" with. You never really know what they're actually doing with your data unless you read all their policies and that's just what they _say_ they're going to do.

If you can edit the title, it'd be better as "Wolfram Alpha updates their Personal Analytics for Facebook" or something since it is indeed an update and not totally new.

I'm surprised people haven't done this before but that leads to my main question for you: what's the business plan/how will this service support itself?

Is there a specific type of data or industry you're interested in? There's a ton of government data floating around, a lot of which is located at http://data.gov/ Some other sites to look into: kaggle.com, http://www.healthmetricsandeval

Pretty cool - good work! I've been working with similar data and trying to find good ways of displaying it. Would be very interested in seeing the source on Github if you still plan to release it. Are you using Twitter's `place` attributes

+1 for this. Would be interested in seeing how this is done in code to further my understanding of MongoDB. Would be interesting to create a reverse translator as well.

As a developer-type, I'd pick an ecommerce solution like Shopify.com which has plugins like this one ( http://apps.shopify.com/product-customizer ) which you could either pay for or recreate yourself. I think most ecommerce sites will have

Nice post, but how is this different from machine learning? It's not like the code is rewriting itself; it's the data in the data store which is being used to find better models for the problem. Or am I wrong?

Is there a reason you're writing another daemon? Have you seen http://fluentd.org/ which seems to already have packages for many OSes as well as plugins.
