I don’t believe there is any legitimate reason to not allow the watch to be a standalone device with cellular ability and a phone number or have cellular capability and to be able to use something like a Google Voice number. They couldn’t s

And yet the watch still requires you to pair it with a phone. They could sell standalone watches without a phone and will cellular service. They won’t though and Apple’s statements about environmentalism are b.s. for this an other reasons

Sometimes complicated dynamical systems have equilibria that just are without a known reason. I can see that once 30% gained a bit of traction is just coalesced into an equilibrium. The common decision making analysis of just looking at w

Becuase it is the one that the system has evolved to consider the rule of thumb. The equilibrium appears to be 30% above asking and, and least local to our time period, appears to be stable.

It seems to me that in the context of higher education the economics are fundamentally broken. There are lots of examples of this type of situation in the U.S. Suburbia is subsidized through the road system. Gas taxes and vehicle regist

I saw we first take the small step and prevent people from having $120 million to spend on a wedding. Perhaps that step will suffice. Maybe not. One can analyze the situation as needed to see or adjustments in either direction need to be

Some of that $120m undoubtedly went to pay musicians, chefs, cooks, florists, security guards, waitstaff, custodians, etc, etc, etc. If that wedding didn’t happen, those people probably would have missed out on their biggest pay day of the

Disinformation campaigns can be powerful and effective. See the sites below for examples of this disinformation. There are fools that believe this stuff. https://yandex.com/search/?text=polio+vaccine+harmful&lr=21

Don't know. Not sure how it matters. I was just agreeing with the person I responded to that we should stop spending money on silly things.

Taxing billionaires is a good first step. Let’s reassess the situation after this happens.

by skhunted 2y ago
People are free to spend their own money however they wish. Similarly societies can tax whomever and however they see fit. …should be happy when they see billionaires spend excessively, as it means that wealth is getting spread around.

The richest man in India spent $120 million on a wedding. I agree with you that we should stop spending money on useless shit and taxing billionaires will help achieve our goal of not spending money on useless shit.

The fact that it is a prison with much surveillance has little to do with its low crime? This is not a credible belief.

by skhunted 2y ago
I know it’s not true in American prisons but generally not much crime occurs in prison. If Singapore is prison like then it seems that this would at least be a contributing factor to its lack of crime.

Exactly. Rich people tend to horde their wealth and seek more. When they have an opportunity to extract wealth from others they do so. The increase in economic growth from this extraction is minimal in comparison to the amount extracted.
