The Apple brand is really strong. I was reminded of this recently when I started seeing a lot of tweets along the lines of "Now that I've been using the iPhone 6 for a while, the iPhone 5 looks like a postage stamp. I can't g

I'm a little curious. I use Skype semi regularly and it seems to work just fine for me. But it seems everyone here hates it. Are there some "power user" features that don't work well or something?

Silly question, why does the author only approximate the number of possible positions in chess?

Microsoft has been "dying" for as long as I can remember. The truth, however, is that they have continued to be a very healthy and well run business for far, far longer than any of their peers can ever claim. The "Microsoft i

That's interesting but it implies I cannot tell the time if my arms are at rest on a table or say, hovered over my keyboard.

If this thing catches on they will end up with a literal treasure trove of useful data that can be mined for some pretty mind bogglingly accurate stats on some aspects of our health. I like this sort of thing but I can also understand why s

Just realized how much I hate the term "change the world" that is so prevalent in start up culture these days. I suppose "World" could mean whatever you want it to mean though.

The authors of this piece are very brave. In a few weeks Gruber will be calling them jackasses in his claim chowder post.

Yep. It's a fashion accessory first. Not sure how Sony missed that.

Ahh, they missed a trick. Where Apple is going to kill them isn't even on functionality, but customizability. That's especially ironic considering it's iOS vs Android.

Slightly off topic, but it depresses me greatly that maintaining/building roads is STILL such an expensive endeavor. How are poor countries ever supposed to have passable public transit systems?

I've always thought I had a problem with reading. Whenever I read fiction, I read the text as though it is being spoken. So I've never joined a book club because I've always been afraid I'd never be able to finish a book

The Africa tie in here is beyond stupid. Not to be flippant but Africa is the absolute last place anything "Apple" will take hold.

Well he could easily retort that the if you're going to make a phone this big, do it right, make it as light as possible. I assume the iPhone 6 is lighter than the equivalently sized Galaxy phones.

This is so revisionist. That thing had two screens. How much would it have weighed? What would the battery life have been like? How much would it have cost. These things matter.

Hmm, so nobody has brought up the possibility of some sort of Apple + Nike collusion (for lack of a better word) here? Cook sits on the Nike board. Who's to say he didn't let the folks at Nike in on what Apple were working on and
