"We can say categorically that it is impossible for Dr. Buckmaster’s Codex prompts over the last two months to have influenced the system in any way, including training." This is the third day of total hysteria that is based on no

I don't believe HN boosts their algo but I think people recognize posters like celebs. I recognize tosh, simonw, etc. Also it's an easy way to farm karma. The pelican guy posted a pelican, let's upvote it? It's at least

He is in the HN ingroup of whenever he posts a blog, a prominent HN mod or poster with 1 billion karma will inevitably post it, and so it goes. It's sort of like the music industry.

You are just overthinking it. This place is now a Claude blog and anti OpenAI site.

I'm getting downvoted but the accusation was that OAI employees were maligning Tristan Buckmaster. I continue to not see a single sighting of this and whoever is trying to gaslight this should be ashamed and should not be able to vote

Haven't seen a single post doing this on X or anywhere really from OAI employees. Only seen knives pointed at Sebastian on social media so this is extreme and shameful gaslighting.

This thread is full of jumping to conclusions based on a biased perspective. Have some humility.

This is way overstated. OpenAI will certainly launch devices. It is to be seen how competitive they are and how much product market fit they achieve. OpenAI also has better data retention policies relative to Anthropic on SOTA models.

You've overstated the conclusion. The SWE-bench series has had issues since its inception. OpenAI no longer recommends SWE-Bench-Pro as a benchmark: https://openai.com/index/separating-signal-from-noise-coding...

Codex app is a much different experience than CC CLI. I would try it out for a couple days with the new model suite and see what you prefer after that.

1.1 seems a lot better than the original release, which was a bit hyperbolic. excited to see the team keep iterating.

On point 1 - I think unions have dramatic political power in America. Corporations have both political power and economic resources. I generally think unions don't lose to corporations because of lack of power. I don't think that
