I’ve hit that in my market - or a soft cap, at least, meaning if I want to earn more, I’m going to have to make 2-3x as much effort than I did before. Through working my ass off, and pretty great luck, (working on lots of side projects didn

Practical Object-Oriented Design in Ruby by Sandi Metz Don't worry about the "in Ruby" part, it's just as good even if you know nothing of Ruby. I enjoyed it and have never written a line of Ruby in my life :)

They look like rebranded Sager/Clevo to me, which is what every other boutique laptop seller does too. Not even close to the quality of something I'd consider a MacBook alternative.

HoloLens 2 is supposed to release sometime this year, and they’re saying it’ll be way cheaper than the current version.

The bit that really stuck with me from this podcast was how overworked some medical professionals are, especially those in residency. Which ends up contributing to them making mistakes with their patients, including deadly ones. Shift work

Also overlaps with JRE and probably the one you linked, but I really liked this Rhonda Patrick podcast with Dan Pardi too. https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/dan-pardi Also can be found on Rhonda's Apple Podc

Fair enough, suspend and some other small things are probably better on other machines. But the issues with external monitors and DPI scaling are gonna be present for all hardware.

I love Ubuntu. But I installed it on my MacBook and still had plenty of trouble with it. External monitor support is meh, plugging/unplugging them too quickly will cause issues. Plugging into a 1080p monitor alongside my MBP's ret

Let's not conflate human worth with value to society. I hope we can all agree that all human lives are of equal worth. We all have different strengths and weaknesses though, and some of us will have strengths that align more closely wi

I get your point, and I agree with you overall, but it's not quite fair to compare Netflix movies to Disney movies. Netflix's wheelhouse in original content is TV series, not movies. IMO, they're second only to HBO in that sp

I agree with those, and to add some more: GPS/Maps. Uber and Lyft. Mobile concert and airline tickets are pretty nice to have too. (I don't have a printer anymore.)

I've done this in the past, and I would pull up the route in Maps on the tablet and then take it with me. But that doesn't handle getting lost, or last minute detours, etc. Seems like keeping an iPad with cellular data around woul

I’m doing the same thing with Slack, too. I recently turned off slack notifications it’s great. Eventually I’ll notice the icon on my slack or email tab has a notification when I’m not actively doing something, and then I can respond.

Isn’t your chronotype fairly mutable though? With some dedication and a couple weeks you can adjust to waking up whenever. Especially at college age. Obviously lifestyle could be limiting if you’re trying to start waking up at 6am, but if y

I second FastMail. I originally tried Proton, but the iOS app is kind of annoying. FastMail seems really polished on all platforms. Setting up custom domain was a breeze.

I bought the SE when it came out almost two years ago and still love it. No performance issues at all. Only thing I’ve noticed is that some websites clearly don’t really expect phones’ screens to be this small any more, though.

I don't really think 6 month releases are viable on desktop either. Stability is important there, too, if you care about getting work done.
