What's the reasoning behind blocking, apparently, all but 5 TLDs? I could see sketchy ones like XYZ being blocked, but the default whitelist is a bit... Bare.

Not supporting websites from a fairly big country with a strong economy is a failure on their part, either way. I bet they support TLDs like TV (Tuvalu), or IO (Indian Ocean Territory).

Do you mean if you pay, say, 20% tax in Switzerland as an Australian, never setting foot in Australia for an income year. Then you lodge tax in Australia and the ATO says you only have tax credits for 20% of your income, meanwhile you'

You know, it's kinda funny - I am a citizen of both Georgia and the first country on the list of approved countries there, and was thinking about spending a month or two over there since my job went remote only. Yet, due to my ties to

I'm not so sure about the Cantonese/ Mandarin part, since a fair few professors I've had, had those as a native tongue. Hell, even my thesis supervisor was, with whom I communicated extensively. I can't really pinpoint w

Username definitely checks out, but are you advocating for automatically harsher penalties, scaled by net worth? What problem would it solve, except for encouraging poor people to commit more crimes, since they'd now face relatively le

YOLOv4's authors were connected to previous ones to some extent at least, unlike YOLOv5's 'authors'. I don't particularly care either way, but attacking people put off by intentionally confusing naming is probably n

(Bluetooth) vs (Bluetooth, AUX) supported connection methods for different phones sure sounds like feature disparity to me. Your analogy is more akin to something like a glass back vs a hard plastic back on a phone, so maybe re-assess that.

Why are you attacking a "fanbase" mentality when there is none? YOLO stood for a series of networks and subsequent improvements by PJ Redmon, derivative work like PP-YOLO still signals that it's derivative work, but ones like

You're using random numbers and referring to them as some universally accepted truths, in order to justify smaller transgressions. How is that fuel for a rational conversation? Edit: also, your entire justification for this spying is t

I haven't really seen speed tests go below 60 Mbps or so in the crowded residential building I live in! Don't worry, the shitty and overpriced fiber we get more than offsets the quality our wireless network may have.

GitLab was rumoured to be suspending hiring in Russia and China, but I can't see a reference to it on their page. They ban seemingly random countries [0] like Sweden, while allowing hires in Australia, wonder what their rationale is.

Is it? A few replies here are mentioning being happy with ~40 Mbps in bigger cities, meanwhile the last time I ran a speedtest in a busy CBD in Australia I got 600Mbps or so on 4G.

I meant to say most SWEs, which you seemed to have inferred anyway. Why do you think that's wrong? I simply claimed MATLAB is much more commonly used by scientists and non-SW engineers. Most SWE jobs are in B2B, web development, embedd
