Claiming that we must be reliant on private corporations for free speech is a corruption of the very concept. I don't agree with your argument, but to the extent that there's any truth to it the remedy can only be to fix the under

A system without restrictions favours the rich, it favours the dishonest, and it favours those who wield the best weaponized psychology. (And it favours most those with all three.) Your passing reference to platforms being open to a "v

It is self-evidently a reductio ad absurdum, and a well written one at that. It demonstrates the logical flaw in Zuckerberg's argument with one short paragraph.

> They just tell you “use what you need”. Huh? How is that not exactly the right answer? You tell the API how accurate you need it to be, iOS will get you that accuracy with the minimum energy consumption necessary. It makes sense to not

Except the article never mentions climate change so that argument doesn’t make any sense. The issue here is largely due to overuse of water for irrigation combined with a spell of hot dry weather.

But to be fair, this is the discovery of an earlier draft of a translation of a book. It's not exactly a cultural moment that directly intersects secular life like all of the examples you have cited above.

It is almost impossible to imagine that the writings of any long-lived society would not have ample quantities of "timeless wisdom". In fact it would be striking and unusual if it were otherwise. Much wisdom can be difficult to st

You are misrepresenting what was said. "Heavily covered in the media" wasn’t cited as a criterion for a whistleblower. Actually to be more precise, it was cited as a criterion—by you—when you claimed that as a hallmark of “fake”

I haven’t had a bad experience with Catalina, but the new app sandboxing has broken a few minor tools like BalenaEtcher. Not a big deal as it still runs fine under sudo... and they’ll surely release a new version shortly.
