Or fuel in the tank. And it’s probably being blocked in by other planes. Those desert boneyards don’t park planes with random access in mind.

I’m talking about the basis of the analogy, not the analogy. If you’re processing audio signals, saturation (i.e. clipping) is of course preferable to the alternative.

Apple has consistently used “2X faster” language whenever they can, and ALWAYS when justifying a major product change. For them to not do this would be strange.

What do you mean "option of both"? I have both. I have Finder and I have Terminal. I have ways to jump from Terminal to Finder and from Finder to Terminal. I don't need or want a Termider or Finderminal.

This is correct. The driver is responsible when their actions—in contravention of the road rules—cause an accident. If a vehicle is L5, the only "driver" is software. This software would need to attain a driver license just like a

At L5 you can't "blame the driver" because there is no driver.

To be clear, I was referring to AMD/Nvidia mid-tier. And I don’t expect Apple to come close to that any time soon. But who knows—Apple have already exceeded all expectations on their in-house GPU tech. While Apple doesn’t need to be ch

5) Treat the Mac Pro chips as a line item in their R&D budget for future iPhone and iPad CPUs. 6) Maybe Apple will never build "Mac Pro" class CPU. Instead the Mac Pro ekes out an existence with a higher thermal budget and mor

Interesting times ahead, that's for sure. In my mind the small wildcard is going to be how effectively Apple can scale up CPU performance as their thermal budgets are increased. But the big wildcard is going to be how their in-house GP

Absolutely. And I don't think it will be difficult at all for Apple to crush Intel in benchmark performance per watt—let alone real world performance with their more targeted silicon. The interesting question is going to be how Apple&#

Expense is related to chip size. Apple isn’t going to release chips that benchmark slower than the Intel equivalents. To sell the transition they’ll need to say something simple like “2X faster” on the big screen. So I expect to see 8+ core
