This kind of attentiveness is how you get me to refer Namekin to my friends — cheers!

The domain I actually own for this purpose, <last name>.fyi, doesn't appear to be on the list of suggestions. You should add that TLD. :)

I used to own the domain <my initials>.io, and made the mistake of letting it expire. It was immediately picked up by a squatter and now they want thousands of dollars. Not worth it.

This is cool but, even with a relatively uncommon last name, every single possible domain shows up as taken.

How incredibly convenient for an anonymous social networking dedicated to complaining about your employer. </conspiracy>

They state specifically in the article that their chart is based on measurements taken from "several popular websites." Obviously they would want to test Facebook because a lot of people use that website. I'm sure they tested

I agree with you and I had this same question when the article discussing private class fields was posted here a few days ago. There has been a lot of discussion regarding public and private keywords here: https://github.com/

I've been using Outline.com when possible to get around this, but I agree. Posts behind paywalls should be removed, or tagged and filterable.

I think it is more appropriate to call them a software company. They both make software that facilitates real-world interactions. I consider software companies to be "tech" companies, but alas.

This was a great read made even better by the simple yet high-quality visualizations. OpenAI does a great job of using UX to make their research more accessible, and I'd love to see more researchers follow suit.

I agree with you, but if they are going to pick one paradigm to build new features for, it is certainly going to be OOP (for better or worse).

That is a very important clarification and I imagine TypeScript will leverage this new feature. That said, I still don't like the #. I think that will be the biggest issue with adoption (at least based on feedback on this post). Would

This is true, but the whole point of this article is to introduce a new way of handling private class members.

I think the idea is to distinguish them from class getter functions? I don't really understand it either.

I was in the process of writing a reply that argued against this (mainly because it is not as readable as a class implementation), but I sort of agree with you as well. That said, considering how widespread JavaScript is at this point, I th

This syntax is...odd. It is not expressive and comes off as a "language hack." The only people who would understand it are those who happen to stumble on this article. Frankly, if this is an issue that you are concerned about, you

I don't think Google would ever be able to acquire DDG. Their brand identities couldn't be further apart.

This is cool and I hope it leads to a rebranding. While I like DDG a lot, the name has always felt off-putting to me. I'd much rather say "I'll just search Google" than "I'll just search DuckDuckGo." Does

My specific issue was the EU representative; as the sole "employee" of my company, I will not pay a lawyer based in the EU to represent European users with privacy / data concerns. They could just contact me directly.

Policies like this make it glaringly obvious how little our government representatives around the world understand technology. It almost seems malicious, or at the very least anticompetitive. Who has access to such filtering systems already

This is how I have felt recently, specifically when it came to purchasing a new phone. I would think that these super-sized drives will cater more toward creatives who have to work with large amounts of audio and video content.
