You can't compare if you don't know the cost, if you can't compare it is hard for the invisible hand to price the market. Price transparency makes more efficient markets.

That isn't typically how abstraction is tallied. The ceo doesn't say they use 15k employees, or the programmer uses 30B transistors. Or the director uses 120 workers. You enumerate what you actually interact with.

Neat, did you take any inspiration from Shedskin? It is a Python to C++ compiler. The perf numbers look decent. What optimizations are you the most proud of? Do you have plans for eval? what would stop you from supporting eval?

I have used Python as my main language since the late 90s and it has been over the last decade and half been getting more unserious. It would be nice if cpython opened up a bit, pluggable GC and JIT would go along way towards reducing this
