Are there other online Machine Learning apps out there for this? Or is Snap-Chat the only one? I remember back in the VRML/SecondLife heyday where you could pick an avatar that was another gender. I still do that. But the emphasis for

Look, the simple matter is that commit messages are designed from the bottom up to be a medium of prose in the same way email is. I would venture to guess that an email written with good grammar, capitalizes subject (that is less then 50 ch

both iTerm2 and Terminal.app got so slow that I switched to Hyper which contrary to common sense is blazing fast for me. I’ve also started experimenting with URXVT via XQuartz but the native feel just isn’t there like it is for Hyper. Who k

I have to say it because no one else has yet. Vim, Emac, Nano, Pico, etc. has been doing this with good ol' fashioned SSH decades before this. It fascinates me to see editors constantly reinvented over and over. Is text really that com

First off, Mozilla believes in the service. Mozilla itself gets funding from donations and corporate backing (I think). The cost of bandwidth is small compared to other file share sites in that the files stored are temporary. The transient

Any one of Sandi Metz's talks. Made me realize just how easier things are when you can abstract them to an object with a well defined messages.

Is there any possibility that the added complexity is a symptom of the framework in use and not a general problem with ALL frameworks? I know I've experienced many projects and found server side rendering more complex then client side

In my narrow mental model I've always heard the claim that HTML and CSS is the purest form of document representation. A static site that can not get any more lean then that. And yet after removing the JavaScript (the source of all evi

Oh believe me I love AsciiDoc. I would use it all the time if half the tools out there would support it. Sadly, as it stands most forums and chat apps still think Markdown is the only format ever to be invented.

How does AsciiDoctor compare to Pandoc? Based on the AsciiDoctor hype page it seems to describe the same features Pandoc offers.

How are we able to have discussions on this article when it links me to a page that says: "503 Service Unavailable": >The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Pl

Please please study the tools and the principles you use. No schooling will offer these things you learn then through experience. If on your own then that takes a long time. To expedite find rules like Sandi Metz's rules and S.O.L.I.D.

I am very surprised at how many comments this story has gotten on HN. I am even more appalled at how many continue to excuse his actions in the name of "being right" or "technically valid". This reminds me of the infamou

A little confused. I thought a hash algorithm was designed to make every bit of the output significant. Meaning that there is a massive difference between the inputs of two hashes that differ by one character. In that case it is conceivable

I'm confused. What does "2" mean in the context of a web page? If the server broke wouldn't it cause a 500 HTTP response? This just seems odd: 'if error write "2"'. Maybe it is some kinda of secret so

In my experience these assertions are untrue. Also the tickets are often the over arching context and will have nothing to do with the code. My product owner doesn't care if I had to try three different algorithms till I got it right;
