Here in Bangkok, you can afford a pretty decent life at $400 a month given you don't live too close to a central part of the town. Internet here is cheap, $19.99 for a decent 6Mbps connection. Electricity is cheap, $65 for 24-hour air condi

Very impressive. This make me want to ditch my own Safari extension[1] and switch to Chrome. Perhaps when you setup a central repository, we can share the same import format. :) [1]: http://code.grid.in.th/

Rikaichan[1] is indeed useful, but if someone want to learn Japanese using it, they have to be a little careful since Rikaichan use EDICT, it could led to pretty misleading translation[2] sometimes when taken out of context. (Compared to Pr

No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame. That aside, I'm looking forward to see how this work out. Given that a lot of people could mistake RWW for Facebook login[1], maybe being stuck inside iTunes could be an advantage. In a sense of "

I am pretty sure installing unsigned MobileConfig was disabled in 3.1.2. Maybe you already installed carrier update that has tethering enabled?

Pandora is using Background Audio API, isn't it? If so, the app is able to stay alive as long as it still play music. Background Task API, on the other hand, has 10 minutes time limit.

The only pirated software in my machine is Adobe Photoshop. Living as a poor web developer in a poor country, single Photoshop license is 6 months worth of salary to me. No way I could afford that now, but I will in the future. Either that,

This is something I noticed when teaching my dad to use a computer; when I said "right" click, he always press the button with his index finger and will continue to do so until I tell him he have to press using the middle finger. So my gues

The first thing my dad says when I bought an iPad into my house was "hey was that that Apple thing? Pad something?" It surprised me that he even heard of it, given we're living in Thailand.

But there's one big difference: you can never assume every EVO has Qik or Fring. And you needed separate account for it. FaceTime with its full integration with the hardware requires none of that. Being able to "oh, you have iPhone 4? Let's

> The catch is, if you trim Apache down to do only what you need, the margin between it and Nginx becomes much smaller. If you really know Apache well, then you don't necessarily need to switch to Nginx, just because it's hot and new.

This sounds like a good idea. One question, though, I have this long list of "solutions" that is not strictly code or design, but still related (the "I just managed to jump through hoops to make this thing works, gotta write it down"-type),

I'd go with A. If something does not exist, then nobody will expect it to, and apps are more likely to built with that limitation in mind. The reverse is Windows Mobile. Copy and paste does not work most of time (you can't even select webpa

Does Verified by VISA works (or not working) the same everywhere? I thought each bank has to support it independently, so I'm only blaming my bank for requiring me to use exactly 6-digit numbers as my VbV password.

Basically I was running CherryPy with supervisord+memmon since the application is a bit faulty. uWSGI alone can replace the whole stack: it comes with its own process manager, memory monitor and has Harakiri mode to monitor a process that i

I was using Nginx for static files and a reverse proxy (+balancer) to CherryPy until recently. Now switched to Nginx + uWSGI for everything and couldn't be happier. Nginx is very fast, even when on-the-fly Gzip is enabled.
