The author would probably make a pretty good screenwriter for Sneakers2. I guess the dictionary word of the day is bombastic...

I think sometimes even the very well qualified (and Peter should be) do not survive the interview grind. Would be simply silly if that off by one error was the cause for rejection.

There is one important thing: some of those hours should come before certain age. For many disciplines/fields it is under 18 and for almost all it is certainly 25. In other words, if you start practicing basketball at age 37, you are not

Whoever wrote this, did things right by keeping things simple(compared to Amazon's own window shopping application and many others). What amazed me was that the author doesn't appear to have put on affiliate links in those searches (o

For some reason, programming "pure" C instead of C++ gives me more satisfaction.

There is no question, laptop use is counter productive in most classes. Unfortunately, for the student there are many classes where a student might already know most/all of the material, but is still "forced" to attend the class. Then it

Trust me on this, you'll never get a completely "truthful" article out of a journalist. Clearly this was an extreme case, but my advice applies even when the journalist is amicable and eager to please, even then your opinion/data/informat

This could be huge! There is no question there will be plenty of affiliates/CPU time (re)sellers. The real question is whether there is big enough demand from those who need grid computing. You had a quote from some quant guy, I su

Good Job! Seriously, very impressive presentation for a HS assignment. Hopefully, your English teacher appreciated it as much as your classmates.

Steve has a lot of great motivational posts, has been a hacker/indie developer himself and seems to be a rational guy for the most part. However, he has those "full of crazy" posts, plus I do wonder whether he really believes his wife's

I am a little dubious myself, but it seems doable, considering a couple factors: Steve was going to UC Berkeley before he got popped for that theft charge, CSUN is quite a bit lower on the pecking order than UCB (no offense any CSUN grad

As it has been said elsewhere, you'll know when you have the right idea (it will start burning inside you). However, there is absolutely no guarantee that you'll find the idea in the next 6 months. If you don't want to start working again f

I use both NameCheap and GoDaddy. I would have switched off GoDaddy completely but actually GoDaddy is the cheapest (around $7/yr) when using coupons... One more tip, hosting with the registrar is usually a bad idea.

Interesting article, but it does not prove the assertion in the title. Grigori Perelman was already exceptional in his teens. If one does not get the basics(meaning calculus, linear, discrete math) down pat by 20, IMHO, one doesn't have muc
