You can do this with the tagless-final encoding, which has a similar flavor to Data types à la carte's concept of open data types. As an example, define class ExpSYM a where add :: a Int → a Int → a Int lit :: Int → a Int

Many IRC channels have a culture of generosity, strangers assisting each other in real time. More generally, I wonder if this and working on open source projects would be equivalent to helping strangers/volunteering in real life.

Anyone know if it would work on lower end microcontrollers like the Z80? I managed to use the TI-84+'s I/O port connected to a speaker to play simple tunes[0] using a Forth program I wrote[1], but maybe I can exploit the hardware

I just tried this out yesterday. On my MacBook Pro 11,1 running NixOS the signal is clearest at 1620 KHz. The receiver is an older Bose SoundTouch and after 50 cm it degrades to noise.

xwayland helps mitigate this problem by letting you run X applications on Wayland, (though purists might differ). I use alternate versions of Chromium, Firefox that are Wayland-compatible, see https://arewewaylandyet.com/ f

i3 has a great feature I use all the time--tabs. I don't use a lot of workspaces since that leads me to context-switch too much, but when I want everything visible on a single workspace, I use tabs. You can also select the parent grou

I've used i3 for several years[0], and it's one of my favorite window managers out there. I had a couple of failed attempts on Debian/Ubuntu but NixOS made it so easy to switch to i3 and use XFCE as the desktop environment, w
