Thanks and you're 100% right. We pretty much haven't done any SEO work yet (we've spent the last several months just rebuilding the app) so SEO is definitely on our internal roadmap.

This is the same with PHP. Be aware anyone using something like MongoDB, if you don't sanitize/cast your inputs, your app could be vulnerable. e.g. if you have the code: $collection->findOne( array( 'username' => $_POST['usernam

I've only met Mr Moritz once and feel very lucky to have spent a short amount of time one to one with him. I seriously hope that he stays healthy for a long time to come.

Not currently. It was just a way to learn node.js and to see how fast we could build a somewhat useful app (took 24hrs).

I also built http://prompt.im ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2457111 ) around 1 year ago which is pretty similar (doesn't really work anymore). Good luck with it.

Why not validate on both? Validate on the client to give a nicer and quicker notice if something is wrong (good UX) and then validate on the server for actual security.

We built prompt.im (doesn't really work anymore unfortunately) in less than a day and the first interstateapp.com in around 2 days.

It's probably more about preventing new users. If a non-technical friend asks me where to find torrents/download tv shows/etc I'll tell them TPB over a private tracker.

I'm guessing their datepicker() function checks if the datepicker has already been attached or not. By using onfocus rather than attaching it on page load, the datepicker isn't loaded until it's required (gives a minor speed improvement I i

No problem, I was in the same position roughly a year ago and so I know it's tough to figure things out in time. Most people don't actually apply for visas during YC and instead only once the 3 months are over (that is, if they want to stay

Surely any TSA agent would see a concealed object on the side of a body worthy of at least an inspection/questioning.

A lot of people who I have on Facebook aren't especially tech-minded but still share a lot of content from Reddit. It will be a good thing if they learn about SOPA.
