Honestly, as a person who worked for years on standing jobs, fuck that. It wrecked my back and knees and I worked extremely hard to move to an office job. Now, decades later, my knees still creak and pop when I move, but I see people moving

Are you referring to the Yogis who maintain specific positions for years, deforming their bodies into gnarled, unusable limbs? I wouldn't consider that healthy at all. I would consider them mentally ill.

I agree with that, I think resilient is not the correct term for what is described in the article, but rather accommodation or possibly rationalization . People will adapt to their circumstances in both directions: if things become wor

I would also add that most corporations are dysfunctional - basically, they develop a cash cow that brings in profit, become secure, then allow incompetent management to spread, since there's little to no impact to the revenue. This cr

That's a pipe dream, but employees will just do whatever they have to do to make it work despite the company adding more obstacles. Oh, Jim's not going to be here next week, so let's schedule that client meeting for the week

What about needing time to cover something like your child moving to college, or a doctor visit? How is this simpler than just taking the actual days off you need instead of having to factor in an additional set of variables? What about if

So that system is inherently flawed as well. All that does is add another time management problem to the worker - they will still have to schedule time off for all of the things that don't happen in that mandatory time off, and they wi

Probably could have worked if they'd gotten their act together. But Reddit only became Reddit after Digg made their major redesign. There would have to be something out there that does what Reddit does, and be ready if people bolt.

Google Maps is far worse, CNN is horrible (autoplay by default? Really? Story stubs? Really?) Gmail has always been a design nightmare. Reddit going through a redesign will almost certainly create a competitor that people will flock to.

Autoplay ads/videos are the fraudulent lie that corporations are attempting to use to inflate their ad impressions. It will come back to bite them.

Then why does Google have a textbox on the app? Why not just put a blank page as their front page? And why does the textbox only suddenly move your input from a web app element to a browser element in only this one instance? What solution d

I know that, because that's what I do. But my point is, I shouldn't have to know how to 'hack' around the browser just to use a textbox. That's really inferior UX design. I shouldn't even be thinking about any

I hate the idea of moving elements around the entire window after I've started using them. I don't want to use the address bar as a search bar, but the overall problem is from a UX standpoint - you start typing into a textbox, and

FTA: ICOs conclude once the coins or tokens are tradable in the open market. This is a part that has eluded me thus far: how are the new coins tradable on the open market? I'm genuinely asking - most exchanges don't support all

I agree that their problem is completely rooted in the fact that they have overpaid for sports contracts, coupled with the fact that they have no option but to continue to overbid for future contracts.

I get a kick out of people saying ESPN is 'left wing' biased. Nah, they're just bad content. Their competitors are trying to paint them as liberal, but they're just bad at content that isn't a live game and can bare

Eloquently said and I 100% agree. I worked as a blue collar worker for many years and the number of times I've heard people claim that working construction or retail was 'stress free' have no concept of that which they speak.

Globalism is, and will continue to, happen no matter what the US does. The US needs to figure out how to make it work for the long term. Protectionism won't work. You might as well be a cooper or haberdasher trying to pass laws to keep

There were a lot of people saying the NSA, or someone similar, would do exactly what they did. It was the main opposition to the Patriot Act. People forget so quickly.

I think the current interview process fails but...this idea of seeing if people can code a small project isn't much better - it might be worse. It's a lot different giving someone a tiny project to knock out in a weekend and worki

If you write that in 2 hours, honestly I can't see that being code I'd hire someone for. You'd have to hack together garbage code and you'd look like someone who threw things together without thinking.

I completely agree. I saw that and thought - um, that's not a 2 hour job unless you want a massively hacked together app. I might be able to do something modestly decent over a weekend, but 2 hours? Nope. You have to have ways of input

That's definitely a concern I have - Republicans want to repeal ACA and roll it back to the incredibly expensive system we had before that was bankrupting people. That's exactly what they intend to do.
