I think this is just an extension of the idea that "only 20% of communication is verbal and the rest is nonverbal". We have always understood the limitations of language, most of what is communicated between humans is nonverbal.

Very cool idea. As far as applications, I love the idea of this being a lower cost / higher resolution version of satellite imaging, think Ororatec, Planet, Spire etc.

D seems interesting but I'm kind of put off by the fact that there doesn't seem to be a lot of folks using it, at least in the circles I run in. Anyone have an answer to the question why aren't more people using D?

+1 for rotating within large companies. finding the right team at a large company can make all the difference, at least it did for me.
