Your post is spot on. The search, the frigging search is completely broken on Win8. I hate it that you can't have a universal search so much that I've started using Launchy. Alt-Space for me to search anything is a pretty damn good two key

On the other hand I suddenly thought about HTML/CSS. I think HTML for reflowable and PDF for fixed would be awesome. The only thing is that you need a very good wysiwyg editor for html that's as good as word yet produces clean code.

At that price I think he'd barely scrape by with the BOM cost. R&D costs serious money to be very honest and (in my present experience) you burn through electronics and mechanical parts very quickly thanks to mistakes even after you've

That's actually a great idea (thinkpad slice) since all I knew was about the hump batteries. Anyway I'm waiting out for Haswell and then I'm planning on pulling the trigger on a new laptop since I'd appreciate a nicer resolution as well and

I remember my old friend saying that he could use the 'hump' battery on his think pad and it'd give him around 14 hours. But that was a 14 incher. Honestly though, I think we've got enough power in todays laptops for even casual gaming over

Dear Manufacturers, if there's a newer tech allowing better battery efficiency, don't reduce battery capacity to maintain profit margins but instead please keep the same capacity and bump up the price slightly . People will still buy them

If you're on a tablet, I think you would much appreciate an ePub. I most definitely would. It's mainly for reflowing text. I know reflowable PDF is possible but I have never seen one in the wild.

If the console market is better then why do they want to implement stronger DRM measures? Feels a bit unfair. PC: Oh, the piracy is too much we need stronger DRM. Console: We control the entire chain, we need stronger DRM to maintain that c

And something even crazier is that a hundred bucks today is nowhere as near valuable as one from even two console generations ago.

You may have a good point. But I don't think it's feasible to buy a Atmega2560 and then build a custom pcb. Majority would rather buy an Arduino Mega for their project and be done with it rather than building a custom board. My previous com

You used to be able to hack on the arduino without needing SMD components and a reflow station. Electronics newbies don't have those and arduino was targeted towards them. Now, they've become a component supplier, since you can't buy your o

Obviously I wholeheartedly agree with you. I was just trying to make a relevant joke. On a more serious note, people who treat others (be it men or women) as objects/puppets are themselves devoid of any deeper intelligence. I will go so far

[begin rant] Your post sparked a thought. We've been hearing about 'cure' for depression. From the point of depression, isn't the baseline a 'high'? Yet, we're told right from childhood that drugs that put you on a high are not acceptable.

Human rights for Chimps. Definitely no. If you give them rights, you need to make sure they abide by the same laws that humans abide by. If one 'tells' a chimp to steal something, will the human be punished? He could as well say, "I told

You can't just say VPS without mentioning http://buyvm.net/ I'd put up a referral link if I knew how to. There's of course OVH on its Kimsufi line with full fledged dedicated boxes for as little as 9 Euro a month for good numbers.
