This leads to another question. Do they (in space) have standard 50Hz/60Hz CFLs? That might be unsafe because of the flicker, right?

Okay. But as a newbie, I still think I shouldn't need to Win+W then click on the window I need when the previous option was just clicking on the relevant icon in the taskbar directly. This is backward UI (just like the Android Jellybean whi

If you define one calculation as one instruction that is carried in a single clock cycle, even the stupidly cheap Atmel chips (which power the Arduino) runs at 16MHz, which is 16 million instructions per second .

I'm too used to the 'one icon per window' paradigm which is why even on windows I do not combine icons. To open a program that has multiple windows on unity, one needs to click the relevant icon, and then select the window you want, which i

I wonder if some wing tech were possible to be used on vehicle body as an aftermarket option to increase laminar flow (or delay separation, I'm not sure, not an AE) to reduce air resistance.

I don't mean this specifically about your site, but most of the sites like these where the user is trying something new, don't put a barrier asking for an email and expecting him to register. Allow him to start using your tools right away a

We had a running joke that Chrome took more cycles and RAM than Far Cry 3. The tragic part was that, it was no joke.

Another note, once you get the base graphics working start the game, go to downloadable content and download the zBase graphic pack, which is around 207MB. Those are vastly superior to the OpenGFX pack, and gives OpenTTD a very polished and

Fantastic - And I mean no sarcasm. Your previous comment was brilliantly written, allowing the user to draw his own conclusion. Except for that part 'incarcerate people at a rate higher than any other country' which gives it away...

Can anyone tell me why they're using RC2 and not AES? Does the export restriction even disallow that? Seems a bit disingenuous if that is the case.

I think I'm largely out of touch with the average computer buyer of today but is it literally only about a sticker? What if instead of "Windows 8 Certified" the manufacturers put a "With Windows 8" and completely disregard the entire secu

I'm no programmer but I suddenly thought of a possible solution - adaptive sizing. Depending on the importance, the first few words of the task would appear bigger or smaller appropriately. I'm sure this would work great on the desktop but

I've never run Safari and I find this interesting. So if the tab is say, torn apart and put on a second monitor (which is visible), but you're working on another tab, does it literally pause the animation halfway?

This might be only tangentially relevant but I never took to liking the Ubuntu's font. I would much rather Segoe UI (regular, not Lite) or even Google's Roboto over Ubuntu's font.

In India you get Coke and Pepsi in bottles. They use cane sugar, and indeed you can tell the difference between coke, pepsi and thumbs up. Simply put in order from the most acidic to most sweet it's almost like Thumbs Up, Coke, Pepsi. I cou

This is true. When the professor asks, if you want a take-home or an open book it's usually a trick question, and you always supposed to ask for a closed book test. Grad school, doubly so.
