Reddit is a great place to get recommended the most expensive stuff. 99% of the time the best sellers on Amazon work great for me, but if I look at Reddit they insist only a couple very expensive brands are worth owning in any category of i

Haha why would they even think that's OK? In most cars the passenger can't even set up bluetooth unless they're parked. Lots of companies anticipate legal problems and self-regulate, Tesla does whatever it can get away with a

This is such a bizarre post you didn't even point out videos for people to look at? I watch a lot of these and it's not been clear that they've improved much, even the enthusiastic drivers seem to say the newest version does

It's not a judgment on the goodness or badness of the person in any case. Musk does manage to get his name on the news a lot and is (was?) the richest person, I guess that counts for something for Time. I think his reputation is going

It doesn't surprise me that it's this particular scenario, I've seen a lot of Youtube videos of them going way over the center line on turns in this kind of road (2 lane rural with 55 mph) even in broad daylight

Use of Weapons and Consider Phlebas are the worst of the series IMO. I powered through Consider Phloebus just because I knew people loved the series, but there's really no reason to start there

I keep checking to see if they will ever take down that video and nope: https://www.tesla.com/autopilot . Even without knowing those extra details that it crashed and used 3D maps, the text at the beginning of the video is s

Seems like for a decade several times a week this question shows up on HN and 99% of comments agree. Personally for my uses I don't remember it being significantly better, I'm not sure what I'm missing.

The fact that this rolled out at all is alarming. Big quickly noticeable regressions should be caught by some process internally before giving it to customers even if they are "beta testers", especially for safety critical stuff.

Last week Tesla rolled out an update to all of its FSD beta users that caused rogue FCWs leading to dangerous sudden braking. Somehow they didn't catch this internally but most of their customers seemed to notice it the first day. It&#

I have a feeling a lot of stuff is being swept under the rug at this stage. Watching how many near misses are on YouTube from a handful of beta testers, the only accidents I've seen are rims being destroyed by curbing. From the amount

I don't think the workloads would have much to do with this, probably saw that they were having less failures than anticipated or memory/chip shortages have them keeping equipment around longer than they planned.

Almost all of the videos on Youtube show interventions every couple minutes at least, let's generously say 1 per 5 miles. Do you think off film they're doing 100k miles without intervention for each of those to make up for it?
