Agreed. Therefore the video from when FSD was even less reliable shouldn't have implied that supervision was only necessary for legal reasons.

The fact you think they wouldn't have needed a driver on board if not for the law proves how deceptive this is. Do you know how many takes this took? Neither do I, but it's very doubtful that they'd let the Tesla do this alon

I don't doubt that on this take, it was driving itself successfully, or that they could reproduce the video today. But when you say the driver is only there for legal reasons you are implying that the car doesn't need supervision

The video suggests the car can drive itself without supervision, just those pesky laws are holding them back. We all know 5+ years later there is way more than "legal reasons" for the car not to drive itself without supervision. T

Promotional video from 5 years ago still up at https://www.tesla.com/autopilot : THE PERSON IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS ONLY THERE FOR LEGAL REASONS If that's not technically fraud, it's at least fraud in spirit.

Yup, this isn't making the cheapest t-shirts possible. The cost of labor is nothing compared to the revenues. For a fab you want a stable government and environment, and good tax/trade situation, and reliable, quality labor.

I don't really dislike Elon. I think he doesn't do things from a bad place but possibly because he's not neurotypical he's been sucked into spending his energy pleasing his craziest fans. We'll have to disagree on H

Reed Hastings knows too much about creativity to believe that. I don't condone this kind of fake praise, but it is easy, costless and will make you a "good guy" to a little demographic that can be troublesome if aimed at you.

You're citing an example of high EQ (unless you think he really means it, which is doubtful). It won't hurt him in any way to say that and he gets credit with Elon and his fans.

The tough thing for Tesla shareholders is the share price needs Elon, but the company itself would be better off without Elon if he's going to affect demand. A lot of the share price is for the future magic tech Elon keeps proposing, i
