Curious - How is Red sustained, who currently supports it? Or what does the roadmap look like for this to be a five-year sustainable project? Edit: They seem to address this down in the blog post, with the creation of a RCT token. What is t

Addressing to your point directly, the project doesn't claim to be open-source https://github.com/appbaseio/abc#licensing and the same is also mentioned in the blog post. The part of the project that is open-sourc

Thanks! We haven't tested it at scale, but this is where we would ideally want it to be at v1. If you would like to take it for a spin, would appreciate any feedback on scaling limits.

It can sync to any ES server. Linking to the import doc which expands on that - https://github.com/appbaseio/abc/blob/dev/docs/appbase/impor... .

Currently, only read support is provided to indexes created in 5.x. As someone who used one of their pre-GA releases, they previously had a flag to enable multiple mapping types.

My biggest gripe with the 6.0.0 GA is the removal of multiple mapping types per index. This creates a significant breaking change that will hurt the community tools adoption to 6.0. Their initial plan was to deprecate it and only remove it

Not a lawyer, to be on the safe side - you would want to avoid a scenario where you are getting paid or do anything that may be treated as skilled labor while on a B1/B2 visa. Breaking this may be grounds for revoking your visa status.

Not true. Oracle's P/E is 22, Apple's is 18, MSFT's is 27. Oracle is doing just fine.

I am not sure if I like this change, more at https://help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115011350967-Claps . In HN analogy, it's like saying you can upvote a post multiple times (up to a max of 50 times).

They are similar ideas on the surface, key differences are that we use Elasticsearch as the underlying distributed search engine, InstantSearch is based on Algolia. Reactive Search also supports more components at this point, most prominent

You might want to check https://github.com/tomchentw/react-google-maps . We build on top of it to add the querying functionality and additional components (everything that is not a map).
