On a related note - are there any frameworks you could use to write native-ish Mac apps without knowing Objective C or Swift?

Actually I'm just looking to get things done. I'm pretty sure React can do all those things and much more. But speaking as a backend dev, getting to a state where I can write useful code was faster with Vue than with React.

I actually blogged about exactly this topic last year. As a backend developer (and a new entrant to the JS world), the one thing I was looking for from a JS framework was that it should scale with my application. And somehow none of the f

Sorry but that's not true. We have a pretty heavy VueJS application in production with like 500 components and it's a pleasure to work with, and is still quite performant.

It can be difficult to extend/modify the SSG in case you don't know the language. So I would still recommend picking one based on the language you're most at home with.

In case you're using Python, I can't recommend this library enough - https://github.com/pytransitions/transitions . An absolute pleasure to work with.

I find it fascinating that there are services which require access to your complete inbox , irrespective of how useful they might be or what they've written in their privacy policy. Every single email you ever sent/received, and

Slightly off topic - Is it still a concern in 2017 that spammers will get hold of email addresses which are displayed publicly on the internet? Is it worth the effort to put stuff like this behind a form with captcha and all?

Sure, but that's not what the argument is. The argument is that electron apps are way more resource hungry than native ones.

I thought the documentation is pretty well written and comprehensive. Probably the reason why it appears complicated is just because of the nature (and amount) of their services.

Probably off topic, but how do you get such a sort to work nicely (sorting on count from another table), without creating redundant data (in this case, maintaining the +1 count in the main issue table as well as maintaining a separate table
