It’s not just the speed. The costs are depressing as well. A 50Mbps connection (DSL, because cable is not even available in this area) at my current location costs €40/month. 40! It’s mind-blowing.

Beancount is really cool. I've been using it for about 2 years now and really like it so far. I'm also maintaining an "awesome" resources list for Beancount here - https://awesome-beancount.com/ , in cas

> don't do it unless you're done with coding Kind of, yes. I guess it depends on the workplace. Some companies still allow managers to code for a certain percentage of their time, while some don't. But you're right -

That looks very useful. I'll be adding a resources section in the next few days. I'll make sure I link to this Github repository, if that's OK with you!

I’ve been working on collecting a list of interviews that answer exactly this question. Here’s a link - https://devtomanager.com . Hope you find it helpful!

I haven't tried Mamoto/Piwik, but from the looks of it they look like they have a pretty heavy feature set. If it works for you, I don't see any reason to switch. But if you prefer something that's intentionally low on f

For the surveillance conscious I can also recommend using Fathom ( https://usefathom.com ). I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and have only good things to say.

There are some use cases in web programming. For example, if a request handler (view, in Django's terminology) is in turn calling out some external endpoints, you don't want those external requests to block other requests to your

I've been writing web apps using Tornado since 2013 and that has been an excellent experience. But I'm not sure if I have the same opinion of asyncio. To be honest, I don't even know if I understand it completely. There are s
