I don't think we can leave it to the Toronto Star to think of this idea. Good point.

Hierarchy kills creativity. I just started working a few entry level IT jobs and I am seeing how sad this really is. A change request to restart a server takes 4-weeks and is turned down by a CTO who doesn't understand IT needs. The CTO imp

You probably grew too fast. Slow down your growth next time, limit how many profiles they can view per week. 300k at once they probably thought you were a spammer.

Thinking of it for enterprise users it could really work. Enterprise users seem to be on Outlook all the time checking their e-mails so this would work if you can't tie your passwords into AD/Exchange. Maybe have an option to have a token t

I have tried this many times. I have an awesome failure rate though. I secured one contract that I thought would be great with a minimum investment of only $5,000. I find here (Toronto) the amount was out of their range. To answer your ques

RSS doesn't get any love from companies who use it. They never advertise it. I think it stems from the following: 1) People want full-text feeds including images, video, and audio. Companies try to get the user to come to their site so ther

I am not a developer but a few people I know were able to score freelance gigs by creating open source software for businesses and blasting them. One guy created a small utility for text expansion and easy to program keyboard shortcuts, hun

If you struggle to schedule, which you don't seem to, you can de-schedule. What I do is schedule time for goofing off (browsing) that way the rest of the time is focused on what I have to do. Granted it helps listing the tasks but I struggl

Your page is kinda disappointing. I click it and I get nothing of value. As a customer I see... cool a product... What does it do? Nothing. Why do I need it? I don't. What will it help me solve? The owner doesn't know. I don't know about yo

The people who are upset with Groupon don't research what they are doing or don't ask the questions that they should ask. Owners need to hold themselves responsible for not doing their research. If a business wants to create value from Grou

If it's making some money I would incorporate. You don't want a patent troll screwing everything up for you and you can mitigate the risk of that for a a small fee. You can own shares in the company and that way your ownership stake isn't a

You shouldn't be paying for beta testers. If you can't find people to test your product and provide feedback then you should look over your target market again. If you e-mail an early adopter of your service you can gleam useful feedback th
