Without negating the observation of timelessness, it jumped out at me how Russell Brand is now on the “conservative” end of the spectrum (both how he is painted by media, as well as revealed by polls of his audience on a variety of topics),

He is not asking anything. He is making a statement. When someone says “that’s why A, and also why B”, they’re making a statement, not asking a question just because the word “why” appears. The lack of a question mark is also a clue.

Not to make a big thing about it, but you’re wrong. Try read it again, slowly. Edit: hint: focus on “if that’s true” and “merely”.

I think they intended to say quadratic. For N classical objects interacting, each of them can interact with each of the N-1 others, hence O(N^2). The GP is saying that the quantum interactions don’t follow this rule, hence “not merely O(2

A small nit (sorry): it’s probably not a matter of sensor quality (decent quality microphones are not very expensive), but rather the neural networks that process the audio signal.

Your point about terrible drivers getting better through practice doesn’t make much sense to me: - autonomous cars are also getting better with practice - we’re alway producing new batches of terrible drivers. This is unlike autonomous car

The transformer model was introduced in the 2017 paper “Attention is all you need”, which applied it to machine translation of human language.

If you’re talking about using LLMs as part of the simulation, where decisions and commitments made during discussions are reflected in the simulation, that sounds terribly expensive if you’re simulating a full city.
