For some reason, Math.pow implementation in JavaScript is really optimized for special cases of multiplying numbers. I ran into this too when I found this surprising case of faster performance of Go when transpired into JS [1]. [1] https:

No, it was an experimental implementation of https://www.w3.org/TR/tcp-udp-sockets/ actually. Regular Firefox browser, not Firefox OS.

Yes, it was Firefox. I did not write any extensions, I simply turned on an experimental flag for the TCP and UDP Socket API. [1] [1] https://www.w3.org/TR/tcp-udp-sockets/

I know of a game that incorporates programming lessons in a really cute way. I discovered it when I was around 15 and loved it so much, I wished I ran into it at an earlier age. It's a 3rd person view where you control an astronaut on

That's neat, and I agree there's a lot of potential to learn and experiment with that approach. I've done something similar with Go, it was a library [0] that exposed identical API in 3 situations: desktops, mobile, and brows

Me too. I realized one factor that might play a role. I came primarily from a C++ background, and back then, stackoverflow and google were paramount and used daily. Now that I'm primarily using Go, I almost always get my answers from g

`staticcheck` will statically analyze your code and suggest all places where the new conversion rule can be applied. All the other rules are same as the last 7 years, you know them through experience after using Go for a week. Way simpler t

For me, Go is the most fun language I've ever used after 15+ years of programming. I like how simple and consistent, yet powerful it is.

It's `present`, a very simple tool. Written in Go, open source. Using it is a choice. I agree its ability to work on mobile is limited and that could use a CL (or a few) to improve. https://godoc.org/golang.org/x&#

While recent PR improvements have made it a lot better, there are still a few things missing that I know of. For example, if a contributor force pushes a new commit to a PR branch, as a reviewer, I can't see the old version and compare

This is the reason I never use the autofill beyond more than at typechecker. I still explicitly write out what I want to place in the form, and the autofill helps me avoid typos. However, I always found it odd how something so prone to this
