Is anyone thinking of creating a Go binding for this?

Yep. Its user experience is straight from the 90s. Can't edit your messages to fix typos, can't do pleasant and friendly formatting with preview, and don't even get me started on controls over notifications.

My email is public on my GitHub profile (it's the same as my git author email, which is also public) for the last few years, and I don't have a huge problem with spam. I get a couple emails occasionally (a few every month), and th

If they made 32 gb max, you'd want to get it because it's soldered to mobo. That means even higher price. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Agreed. I wish it also didn't have the "MacBook Pro" text on the bezel of the screen. It serves no useful purpose of making the laptop better, but it can be slightly distracting from the work you're doing on screen, just

Such mixed feelings about this. Really nice content, but misleading title. :( I already knew all that, but I appreciate the write up for others who don't already know all those details. I'm an enthusiast and obsessed with these de

This phenomenon reminds me of what it's like to send PRs to a project, hoping it gets approved and merged ASAP... Then being given push rights, and suddenly finding yourself on the other side of the fence: hoping PRs are reviewed very

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that... That was ridiculous. It actually made me realize that I may not want to go with others if the average person is like that.

Did anyone else notice the title of the presentation PDF [0]? It is: NINA_5_ FINAL_draft_MarsTalkRevised_v4_17_nm_112716 copy 12 I just thought that was an interesting bit of meta information. Looks like they're not using VCS

I really like SVG and this was a great article that contained many things I didn't know. That said, I _tried_ to use SVG for something as simple as displaying some multiline monospaced text with whitespace preserved, and found it'

Is it pure Go? Could you compile with GopherJS and do the processing all client side?

I've just used the new review mode to do a bigger (still medium) sized review [0], and it was quite nice. It's strange that I can edit any of the inline comments, but not the actual review body itself. What if I made a typo there?

I agree, and I decided I won't accept the hacks and compromises anymore, and started building everything in Go (even frontend stuff) in my free time. There's much to do, but at least the foundation (type system, type safety, etc.)

That is... genius! Now that I think about it, I could've made this connection sooner. There's an (awesome) set of Go packages at go4.org, and the description text says: > ... go4, go four, gopher... get it?

Good question. I only found out about the GopherJS project about a year after it was created, so you'd have to ask Richard for how he picked its name. Looking at the first commit from Aug 27, 2013 [0], it was originally inside a folder

Sorry about that. :) This does come up occasionally, but given that the gopher is the mascot animal for Go, this name has a nice ring to it once you're used to it, at least IMO. Also reminds me of earlier days where people would talk a

I used to care about DRY to a _very_ great degree [0], and I still do. But I've come to realize DRY is much better to apply for high level _concepts_, ideas, and architectures, not unexported helper code. It's unhelpful to try to

A really big and popular platform where Go isn't officially supported yet is the web (browser). I'm trying to push that direction as much as I can by contributing to GopherJS [0], which is IMO our best bet until wasm [1] comes out

Many people who are asking or hoping for an update to the non-Retina MBP are missing an important point. Apple already has released an update to it with newer CPUs, and better screen, and thinner, it's the Retina MBP. The non-Retina MB

Out of the box (which matters - just because an extension exists, doesn't mean everyone who would benefit from it can find it, add it, configure it, etc.)? For one, nice git integration. You can see lines added/changed/remove

The reason this happens is because it's hard to know the boundary between a minor problem and a major situation, and people tend to have a lag in their estimation of severity of the situation. Kinda like a car engine with a turbocharge
