I'm very interested in compiling Go to WebAssembly. Based on what I read, it seems that so far you can primarily try it with C/C++ code. If one were to build a Go -> WebAssembly compiler, what are good routes to take? I can see

Basically, you took it for granted that web had source as the binary, unlike the rest of the world (native binaries are not the source). You'll still be able to find and read source of open source web projects, like like you can for op

It's not a very hard problem to solve though. Just fix the typos, and don't introduce (many) new ones. The people contributing those fixes are doing so because they want to contribute, and typo fixes are very easy to be certain ab

FWIW, Go linter suggestion is to to use i++ but i += 2. If you write i += 1, it'll suggest you should write i++ instead: main.go:6:2: should replace i += 1 with i++ That said, if it were removed, I'd probably be happy bec

I'm not seeing this mentioned at the top level, so I'll say it. I'm impressed with the team and community of Go: https://golang.org/ A few great points: https://blog.golang.org/open-source h

As someone who implemented git over SSH in Go recently, I found that page helpful but frustratingly high-level of an overview. It didn't answer some lower-level questions I had.

I partially blame the title. Why does it capitalize normal words in addition to the product name? Had the title been "Visual Studio Code is now open-source" it would've been more readable IMO. It also helps to be familiar tha

Awesome! Last time I tried VSC it had no gofmt-on-save functionality which I consider mandatory. Now that it does have that and much more, I'm very much looking forward to trying it again.

Can someone give examples of how this app could/would be used? In what kind of situations, and what the benefit of using it would be.

Oh man. I suffer so much when I see people using Go's "path" package to manipulate system filepaths (instead of "path/filepath" package)... Just because it happens to work on Linux/OS X (and maybe even mod

I just did this (from [1]): sudo chown -R $(whoami):admin /usr/local And not `sudo chown $(whoami):admin /usr/local`. Are both really necessary? [1]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10307800

It is indeed a typo, sorry about that! I've fixed it [1] after confirming [2] (yet again just now; I've ran those numbers many many times so I'm very confident it's not a one time fluke). Thanks for catching it. You'

The new layout looks great! But there's an immediately obvious bug, the middle pane keeps resizing to become wider every time you switch between repos. Also, one large repo I had simply shows 0 commits. It worked just fine before. And

I agree that open salaries are really really nice. I am only aware of Balanced Payments that used to have it, but unfortunately they've recently shut down. Chad Whitacre of Gratipay may know if any other companies do this by now.
