Does anyone know if there's source code or a github page associated with this? It would be nice to submit fixes to errors, typos and maybe make suggestions. For starters, there might be a way to do away with the loading screen for shor

Is there more legitimacy/recourse to pay another company for services than to hire an employee (with the skill to back it up) to do the same work in-house? That level of indirection sounds inefficient...

Whoa, piccolo seems pretty cool. It would be nice if there were preassembled kits, not too familiar with laser-cutting and the like.

I've never thought of that. But it sure feels liek there are a ridiculous number of positions in HFT/adclicks/etc compared to research in hospitals. Certainly, there is less respect attached to earning money than 'making

Upstart and systemd are not that complicated. Supervisord certainly has advantages -- the main one is that it's always a `pip install` away on *nix platforms.

I would love to see a standalone testcase demonstrating this bug. Although, what was Facebook's solution to fix it? Was it to make a fix to the SSL library to use a CFSocker wrapper? | It turns out that abandoning manual code analysis

Intros to ES and other technologies are useful. I don't see many tutorials covering usage of ES here: http://www.elasticsearch.org/tutorials/ Could you maybe provide a link to yours?

I wish Overtone -- as someone who has no idea how to setup jackd with pulseaudio and SuperCollider -- was easier to jump straight into and play around.

Useful! Can you project the amount raised at the end of the campaign without today's added perks? It looks like $500,000 USD a day from the graph, so only $14.5 million without some bigger incentives? :\

If everything from the radio to the bootloader to other device drivers is open source, I don't think keeping it updated will be a problem. Look at old laptops and desktops that still work after slapping a Linux OS onto it.

Macbook Airs aren't as powerful as desktop Mac Pros, but they offer a great convenience to the owners. It's "good enough" for most things. I see the Ubuntu Edge as a similar device.

+1 on doing everything yourself the first time for self-teaching. But I'm sure people are on the far end of both sides -- do it all yourself, or use libraries for everything.

Hey, few questions that I'm asking in earnest. 1. When did UPS revolutionize package shipping? 5 years ago, 10 years ago, or longer? 2. Couldn't someone who ran a delivery service (i.e. UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc) have been in place to

Wow, that's cool. Very cool. Do you guys have any competitors? Does this even need a server to use? If it's p2p, it's already decentralized, right?

It still helps to get into the mindset of starting and finishing. Some things are meant to be weekend projects that are abandoned shortly after. Other things are meant to be products, with a few dollops of polish.

Looks a bit cheesy, but neat idea. What makes this different from DJing? You still need someone to control the flow of the music, whether the person is 'live coding' or switching knobs to a synthesizer.
