I hate the rapid-cut way his video are done. Once I tried to watch some of his videos, and I thought it's just a trailer to the "actual video", but then no actual video came, it's just all like that But it's fine I

If you don't know what GNU/Hurd is then it's kind of useless for you anyway. I think it's more of a research project? Anyway it's just a snapshot of Debian GNU/Hurd so you can see info here https://w

Exactly. Only very little part of doing work is the coding. Yes you need that, but it's not _all_. And when working remotely, what I see is that even good coders disappear "in the zone" for far too long... endlessly optimizin

I will say. I'm gonna be burned for this here, but... yeah I can tell that remote is far less effective. As a worker I like it! And there are some positives - mainly, you don't have to commute and live in a cheaper place. But as a

Apple has the walled garden approach to apps, and they don’t let porn in. (Except for reddit app, which has porn allowed, to the complaints of Tumblr) But maybe it will be possible through the Safari browser or something.

Or not. It's not like past always predicts the future. Apple has a lot of stinkers too, just not recently. Apple TV (the HW device) is not all that successful either. On the other hand, this is rather hype-free (no metaverse!!!!! no AI

I will say this is not for me, but the presentation makes it look like it makes more sense than anything Meta has produced so far. I don’t want it, but I understand why someone might. I don’t care about metaverse or gaming, but they made

IPFS in not magic you can just sprinkle on things, say “p2p! decentralised!” and be done. you still need either pay someone to “pin it”, which is more expensive than dumping it on s3. Pinning services (that’s a thing) are all sketchy (as th

I looked in the github repo, and it seems the collective effort of all the 400+ commenters here is more effort than the authors gave to this “language”. Someone just forked a repo and put on some “statements”. Okay. There is no real effort
