It's not that popular, there is literally just tens of gemini servers, for now you are not missing much. Ironically there is no good search engine for Gemini; there is one at gemini://geminispace.info/ but it is shocking

No, they just want it to be as hard as possible. Although I was surprised how relatively big faxes are in Germany. I never had sent a fax before I was in Germany.

Thanks. I got into issue "drone is acting weird because of issue X, how easy would be to fix it vs. migrate to builds.sr.ht?" and it turned out, fixing it was much faster (in the end it was dumb problem with docker networks) than

Hello. Thanks for responding! To be clear. I wanted to use builds.sr.ht on a self hosted server. I opened https://man.sr.ht/builds.sr.ht/configuration.md and that, at a start, starts with QEMU and KVM. I got too lost

On one hand, I really like github and I think they have done tremendous job with popularizing git (and they have not gotten worse after acquisition by Microsoft, which surprised me) But I’m glad that there is an alternative that is not afra

Well, if you trust github enough for the keys, you can just download and distribute the arbitrary data through github itself. I guess that is what he was referring to.

Playdate does not seem like VC funded? Panic is existing Mac software company, that sold (arguably, niche) software at not-that-small prices (well, usual for Mac OS ecosystem, at least in 2000s/2010s), and had a modest success being a

The funny thing is… if you are using gmail app on your phone, you don’t use webmail, because webmail is indeed too janky and bloated for phones, and native is just faster.

That’s not how this worked though. The guy focused on individual letters and imagined himself writing them.

Yes, news backed off from Apple News because they want to track users more than Apple News allows, basically. Plus they want to be more in control what gets shown.

Tor is much more easily detected than VPN. Or. Well. It is same easily detected, but you can reasonably say you have VPN "just to watch US netflix" or something like that. You cannot say that about Tor.

This, plus the very strict rules (no links, no conversion tracking, no targeting) makes me think this will be hugely unsuccessful But what do I know. I don't have 1 million EUR as a deposit lying around.

Well. Colbert made fun of Wikipedia publishing nonsense… in 2006. 15 years ago. This is not a new criticism.
