I think the type system was easier to express in OCaml as you get some stuff for free. I don’t know. I tried to understand the OCaml code and contribute to Flow, and in the end I nope-d my way out of there.

As I wrote elsewhere in the chat - FileCoin is essentially unrelated to IPFS and it’s really hard to make it work together.

You will start running into exactly the same problem as with normal hosting. You need someone to “pin” the music for you, or you pin it yourself but with public IP and will get sued. Unlike with torrents, most people will be using the “gate

my problem with filecoin is that it is essentially disconnected from IPFS… it’s basically completely unrelated. And you need big contraptions to use it together. Protocol Labs people always sell “Filecoin” as solution to IPFS shortcomings…

I wish Flow, Facebook’s TypeScript, was more popular, as I think it has some better properties. But yeah, the tooling is kind of bad and it is all written in OCaml, while TypeScript is in TypeScript…

The article is great, but I wholly disagree with the conclusion “don’t use -e”. It’s still much better to use it than not to use it.

At this point, JWTs are a cargo cult. People do them because everyone else does them, even when it makes 0 reasons in the app itself and they use them as worse session tokens. Nobody was ever fired for using JWT for authentication.

This is not hard. This particular app is slow because nobody cared. Not many people record voice on PCs anymore, and the ones they do, they use professional software. People just use phones for simple tasks. Over time, someone had the idea

I don’t understand why are Google and Apple allowed to do what Microsoft was fined for in the nineties . Arguably, Microsoft did even less! And then again forced by EU to offer alternative browsers, on start. I guess what they say is that

I guess this style of writing is not for me; I don't really understand what is the author trying to say. At the end of the day, it's just coffee... if you like good one, fine; if you don't, go somewhere else? Why all this tal
