I think the point is simply that not everyone can be so lucky. I'm certainly not and can relate to the article thoroughly.

It sounds like you really just learnt that client-side MVC (in this case) wasn't the right tool for the job after all? I'm sure it still has its place in the world, just maybe not for an app with the complexities built into Charm? .. perhap

I'd actually be very interested in this. Recently went back to C# and have quickly remembered how painful .sln and .csproj files are to merge >_< Would love a solution that used something easier to merge, lol!

Perhaps when we can race real cars via remote control (with ultra low latency obviously) the gamers will rise :) One might suspect the same could become of other genres cough FPS cough ;)

Seconded. I've never experienced any of these issues. When I thought someone was wrong or off with my MBP, it turned out to be another piece of hardware or software. I was never an Apple fan, and I've always tweaked even Windows. Likewise,

I think the author was talking more about rockstar/genius developers with many years under their belt than simple "good" or even "great" developers. I also think the author fails to realise that a lot of what he recommends isn't easy to com

Is anyone else annoyed at the mix of parameter naming conventions, or is it just me? (e.g. client_id, emailAddress, client_secret, firstName).

This would mean no caching, so your computer would have to download the image every time, even if it was the same as one you'd already seen. Unless you're only using these images for client demos, it can be very slow and frustrating waiting

Facebook is the greatest, most powerful weapon ever created. If there was a god of attention, it's name would be Facebook. Twitter, Google+, WoW, TV, radio, magazines, whatever. They all pale in comparison to the amount of time and effort =

I think this is a great idea, despite its obvious flaw. To make it a better offering, I would probably add sample custom payment gateway "proxies" in common languages (i.e. PHP, Ruby, etc.) for security. What I mean by proxy is provide some

Agreed. I wonder if you could put a clause in your terms of service that states you will not give refunds for modified price amounts? Then on your confirmation page, just have a nice "Thank you for your donation. Unfortunately, you won't be

I have kept all my code from when I first started coding. Plenty of nostalgia there. I'm surprised I haven't lost it yet! Even over the course of 12 months I can see improvements in my approaches problem solving, code structure, and where I

This seems very unnatural. Step outside on a sunny day and tell me we're not built (as a species) to function optimally in bright light. I'd even go so far as to say that several hundred thousand years of evolution would back me up. Otherwi

Maybe if one day we wind up with a unified processor that is built to run HTML/CSS/JS? The arduino of tomorrow, perhaps? Probably as likely as world peace, but it's fun to dream :) EDIT: The suggestion alone could be enough to incite some c

+1 because I agree. Though, how many more battles must we win? Maybe it's this lightspeed cultural advancement that makes it all seem so drawn out, but it sure feels like nothing is or has changed for the long term better.

That sounds like a Disney movie. Seriously though, that would never happen and we all know why. The question is: what can be done about it? Honestly, what can we/I/you do?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think what they're getting at is that they're expecting an evolution in malware because of this. i.e. your typical "stupid"/mass malware will slowly grow obsolete, maybe even drop off the map and be replaced w
