Did ffmpeg move their bug tracker to Forgejo? https://code.ffmpeg.org/FFmpeg/FFmpeg/issues I still see their old one too, but Forgejo one is nice.

Can't cross compilation help for that? The CPU compiling doesn't need to match the target.

Get PSU from original manufacturers instead, someone like Seasonic. Most common brands simply repackage stuff and not really the best quality.

Looks like the goal is to turn Github into an "agent factory". And they still can't even support IPv6.

Dial up bandwidth is of course bad, but how is latency in dial up vs satellite? Geosync orbit satellite latency is abysmal, unless you are talking about low orbit.

You would think dial up was dead already for a long time too, but apparently it wasn't.

I indeed wouldn't expect safe approach here to be necessarily efficient. But you aren't forced to make everything safe even if it's nicer. I've seen some Vulkan Rust wrappers before which tried to do that, but as you say

Why would Rust rendering be worse than any other rendering? Rust claims to be well suited for handling parallelism.

> It's 2025 and Github—Github!—doesn't support IPv6 Yeah, I wonder why. It's not IPv6's problem though, it's definitely Github's. Anyway, it's not a good example, since IPv6 is vastly wider than 9-bit

May be not, but currently they can't switch to anything at all. So it can't be worse than it is already. Let users decide what they want to use instead of deciding for them. Just the fact that you could use alternatives will alrea

You'd be able to use proper Firefox there. And it is a good thing, it weakens Apple's malicious control over Web standards (sabotage of using SPIR-V for WebGPU is Apple's fault).

keepassxc is good, yeah. The point I'm making is that it shouldn't become mandatory to always force this DRM stuff. So far it didn't happen, but it always can.

Well, I'm talking about definition of the spec and principle here. If they start dictating impossibility of looking at your own private keys by design of the spec, it should be strongly pushed back against. There is enough of abuse in

Not being able to see it all can't be justified with "for phishing purposes". You can put a big warning there that exposing your private key is a risk, but user should be able to see it with needed effort. Not being able to s

Their spec doesn't dictate that you shouldn't be able to see it. It's just dumb implementations that do it (mostly for lock-in purposes). There are ones where you can see it just fine.

They aren't passwords, they are just glorified private / public keys that are hard to manage due to all kind of attached requirements. But it's somewhat better now with tools like keepassxc.
