Just curious, where do you live? I ask because the only time I've ever had to take taxis constantly was when visiting NYC, and it still wasn't cheap (although, cheaper than a taxi to the airport 10 mins away).

Anyone have a mirror or cached copy of this page? This site hit the front page of hn/proggit twice this week, and it was down both times.

IMO, this is actually pretty awesome. Maybe in the future, we can produce new EZPasses that do the same thing, except more privacy-oriented: a pass that reports different Tag IDs to traffic monitoring equipment, but keeps reporting the same

This was hilarious and definitely worth the read. The ads alone have definitely persuaded me to try out their service. The company seems like a breath of fresh air, considering how everyone else avoids associating with porn sites like they&

No, I'm saying that I cross compile and have others test things out. I develop mostly with C++ and rarely need to use OS-level APIs that aren't included in things like Qt or Boost.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to buy something when you are only developing for it and not actually planning on using it. I sometimes develop software for Windows, and I hate running it, so I won't purchase a copy of it. But that

I am a CS student who interned last summer for a typical megacorporation and I made around $20 an hour... and I barely have any of those required skills. I just wanted to point out that you guys, especially at a venture capital firm, are no

I really wish more smartphones had some of the dumbphones' features: better battery life, better casing, etc. As much as I love my Nexus 4, the battery life isn't great and I'm always worried that I will drop it and the whole

It would be really cool if we could develop this to the point that it would work in humans and with a minimal amount of hardware. Imagine the possibilities, coupled with wearable computing: we could digitize SO much information, from landma

+1 for DTA If DTA can't find the link to the content for some reason (it happened to me on youtube a while ago), you can use an addon like LiveHTTPHeaders to sniff HTTP requests and figure out the link for the video. edit: I forgot to

It's easy to farm credit cards and accounts once you have your infrastructure in place, but it's not so easy to actually profit from them. It's time-consuming and a big liability. So you do the next best thing: you dump them.
