The problem with this is that it seems likely to be biased against unexpected results or results that contradict the dominant theory. The old saying, "Science advances one funeral at a time," has a lot of truth in it.

OP here. I wasn't aware of this policy. I rewrote the original headline because I found it not very descriptive. Headlines are often clickbaiting or impressionistic. I'd rather have it say clearly what's in the article.

Yes, for example, in second language acquisition the hypothesis of a critical period has been pretty much disproven. Also, the conflation of perfect pitch with musical ability is a big stumble. Still, quite an interesting article.
