Prior to blocking these subnets, I would have significant pauses every few seconds using 360p. I just tested a few 1080p videos with no issues and without buffering, which is about as big of difference as possible.

My understanding was that pages which are inherently non blocking could be blocked due to the use of shared threadpools and by default leveraging the same execution contexts. I would love to understand if this is a problem in practice, or i

I really like the easy to use approach of replace, and don't understand why every hackernews comment falls back to sed and grep. Free software is about choice, and this project is certainly another viable one. Thank you for open sourcing

I am not so sure that the Pro tablet, given the current Intel stack, will be much better than what is available today. They are going to get a lot more heat pushing 1920x1080 and running an Intel chip instead of the Surface's ARM processor

I have been running Java on Ubuntu each release by just downloading directly from Oracle and exporting my JAVA_HOME and PATH variables. This is a pretty clean approach and allows me to use different JVMs for each type of application, and y

If they based it on tegra 3 it would be very hard to understand, as a "techie", the differences between this and the collection of other tegra 3 products on the market. I think this helps set it apart from Google, rather than the instant r

I am definitely going to preorder the 8.9 inch model. It looks amazing, isn't based on Tegra 3 and the screen looks awesome. It sets itself apart from the Nexus 7 and iPad very well.

I am a Linux advocate and user, but this looks closer to flag than upvote. The results are simply out of whack with any number of real world data sources, from distributions own statistics to google trends.

As someone who primarily runs Ubuntu Linux and Mountain Lion, the interfaces and screenshots in the article definitely look pretty neat. I haven't had a chance to install Windows 8, and I definitely don't like the ideas about restricting t

There has been a lot of interest from the Linux community on MonoGame since the last Humble Bundle, this is great they are sharing their port. I wrote up a blog entry on how to use MonoGame in Ubuntu, and you could use those instructions h

As someone who loves Ubuntu, this would be a great laptop except for the resolution. Screens matter, especially for developers who will be using it day in day out. In my experience 1366x768 has been a rough resolution to work at, and the

I disagree with this for a few reasons. Having an editor or tools which feel cumbersome and don't get out of the way, in my anecdotal experience, may cause me to avoid it more often (visit sites like this for instance) etc. In addition, of
