Absolutely, and having 30+ years of troubleshooting experience on a wide range of hardware and software platforms also help :) It's very inspiring to read about a problem and having the solution explained as matter-of-factly as here.

For as long as I can remember, the best way to get a salary increase/promotion is to find a job in another company. You might get lucky in the current job, but odds are against you.

This gives a lot of context to the previous Freenode article and the resignations mentioned there. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27153338 Hostile takeovers are almost never a good thing.

Always good to hear Corona is becoming less of a threat. While Texas does not yet have the same level of vaccination as the UK, they did lift restrictions before the UK. On the other hand if a country is slow to vaccinate (India, Japan), th

Your point about the lab is great, it's just very hard to dismiss the idea that a lab error was at fault. But i too think it all too likely that we won't be any wiser about the origins. Though it would be great if a timeline could

Not a native speaker, but 1) and 2) seem equal, while 3) somehow gives the impression that you don't really care about answering the question. In danish the word "Ligeglad" is the state of mind for 3).

Admittedly English is not my primary language, but "She would have had to have been being watched" seems to be a construct used in a class, but not something you would hear in day-to-day English.

If you follow the notion that extroverts talk a lot, then by definition an introvert is the opposite. My own interpretation is that introverts focus on getting things done, which is just a lot easier to do without distractions, e.g. away fr
