It's interesting how the unpopular decisions are pushed back, but i think that's an accurate assessment of what will happen. Biden have just dipped below 40% approval rate and has a lot on his plate with the texan abortion law: h

Maybe expected but certainly not accepted. In tech the only way to gain respect is to know what you are doing, shouting and using abusive language makes you lose that respect. Keep it up, and you have to start looking for a new employee.

Most developers here are focused on business related development, to the point that many technical details are forgotten. It might be different in other companies though.

Great idea for a DevOps role, but the average developer will most likely not be aware of these features.

The attention to pipeline speed is great, i don't think I have seen anything this detailed before. Having implemented a pipeline cache to reduce wall time with 15 minutes for each execution, i wouldn't want to go back to no cache.

Multi-cloud is a nice idea, but not for everyone. Where i'm at it has been SQL Server for the last 12 years and now Azure for cloud services. It's highly unlikely that will change for the next 10 years. And almost equally unlikely

Ifs and fors are the easiest concepts to explain to non-developers, so it makes sense to start there. I wouldn't say that they are the standard now, but using and mastering all features in a language is hard. Add to that design pattern

Same here, collaborating with remote workers doesn't establish a solid human connection. And without that it's just not the same thing, to a degree that doesn't make it worthwhile for me personally. So it's a solid no to

To further put things into perspective, here the daily number of infections have gone from a few hundred up to 5.000. And this was before Omicron was known.

The media is extremely focused on the number of infected and how infectious a new variant is. Somehow the low number of new hospitalizations is not newsworthy. Here in Denmark the hospitalizations have been steady at around 45% of the numbe

I don't think that's entirely the same thing, but let's say it is just for arguments sake. Without the vaccines you might have a point, except that Corona and the large flu seasons are not that different for most countries if

Exactly this. We have to live with the virus same as with the flu. And I agree that having healthy people wear masks just to be safe is unacceptable.

Things are somewhat better in Denmark, but hospitals and their staffing have been neglected for many, many years. And it seems that no political party wants to remedy the situation, it's more about image and public profile nowadays.

With that logic it would mean that Facebook is barred from acquisition of big data sources in the UK. That would be breaking news indeed.

You're absolutely right with the last sentence. Nobody remembers the flu seasons and want to treat Corona differently. Which makes zero sense when the vaccines are now in effect. And as long as we get bombarded with Corona news on a da

There is no real benefit to masks for many countries with high degree of vaccination. The hospitalizations tell the story, ie. we are doing better than under the big flu seasons from the past. It's more that the majority thinks that ma

Only if we let it. We seriously have no clue to the bad effects of shutting down and limiting our society in this manner. In my country we had a serious flu in 2017/18 that nobody remembers anymore. Back then the number of hospitalized
