It gives voice to nut job fringe elements and brings them together in echo chambers. All bad stuff, someone has to shut this monstrosity down. It is out of control. The regulation BS will not work because it's become way too big to mon

There is "chronic stress" which is caused by unanticipated events, is short term, but nevertheless helps you grow character and get stronger mentally. Then there is "acute stress" which is akin to death by a thousand cut

For me this has meant, that you start seeing patterns in things. You almost develop a strong gut instinct for things, and sometimes it cannot be rationalized or explained succinctly. This is as it related to traditional software. In sports

But doesn't years of long work lead up to hard work. Early in my career a lot of time was spend learning concepts, theory and practice. After 10 years of this, I started seeing the big picture, recognize patterns and make decisions.

You think the company is not aware of their exploitative behavior, they get away with it because they can. And you as a consumer, can either bring it to their notice, if you have the time and effort to do so, or you vote with your wallet.

Exactly I've worked at places like this and the cadence is usually set by the people in leadership. If the boss up top is a drunk and boning every 20 year old ( been at one such place ), it sets the tone for everyone else. Also does no

From what I understand, the brain never loses its neuroplasticity, but early intervention is always better. You hear stories of people who got diagnosed as adults, got the right medication and therapy and their lives improved tremendously.

ADHD has a wide spectrum, people with real ADHD cannot function without medication ( speaking as a parent with a child who has it). Yes, without medication he would either be not focussed or hyper focussed. But, the biggest issue is lack of

Exactly my point. The US supported a despot like Saddam, ignored all the atrocities, propping up Israel.

You gave a terrible example of comparing the Roman empire to events in Iran. And,I was merely correcting you. Interventions have massive consequences, and Iran has been isolated by successive US governments since then.

You obviously need an education on the Middle East, I suggest you read this book "From Beirut to Jerusalem" by Thomas Friedman, and watch the movie "Persepolis". The Roman Empire existed thousands of years back, the Iran

Tried this with a bunch of sports, but the change was most obvious in skiing. Used to rent, when I bought my first pair of boots, I went from a literal "Beginner" to "Intermediate". Balance and coordination went up 5X.

You sound like someone who needs to "grow up". Most of you at FAANG's are like overgrown children, who think that they are living their best lives in this infantilized environment.

Laughable, because a large number of tech workers in SV are from India, and a large percentage get their undergrad degrees in India, most come here for Masters degrees, but a majority go to engineering schools all over the US.

I agree that the hard problems are not being worked on, that's what happens when VCs descend on the market and are looking to 100X their investments. It's incredibly hard to work hard on difficult problems when you have to grow fo

Nice ploy being used time and again by SV companies to lure kids by offering catered food, foosball and a beer tap, so they never feel grown-up. Oh yeah add "unlimited vacation" to that as well. Family my ass!
