Continuing this charade of "the government and banks are competent at monetary control" is more stupid. Inflation is theft.

The emperor has no clothes. How many crises do we have to go through before we admit the fed and banks either have no idea what they are doing or they know exactly what they're doing and it's malevolent? The number of people here

While I'm glad that no depositors will lose even a single dollar, can anyone justify how banks and the astonishingly rich continually take large, greedy risks only to be bailed out when they fail? I can't imagine the twists of lo

I'm sure that other people's minds exist. I don't have overwhelming evidence that they are capable of empathy or logic. How do _you_ explain poor, rural people fighting for the benefit of billionaires? IMHO, it defies logic

I've read that SVB UK is a totally separate entity and not affected. I have no evidence of that though.

It's really depressing how we totally fail to permanently learn our lessons. We're just doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past because there are so many uneducated (and "educated") people who suck the propaganda tit

Are you telling me that the company who suckered me into creating a roadmap and hiring plan as part of the interview process for the Head of Engineering position and then ghosted me after I presented it has made a horrible technical blunder

I mostly agree with this article about "crypto". Bitcoin is not crypto. In any case, you could make similar arguments about banks and the "Federal" Reserve being scams. In fact, quite a few well regarded politicians of o

I've seen "we can't get OpenAPI to automatically generate our types in a sane way" derail a 3 month project to standardize an API". In 20 years of js, I never had that problem. YMMV

So you're "unfortunately" in the position where you can retire and still lead a rich life? Boo hoo Maybe you should retire and use that time to gain some perspective.

My suggestion is to read and re-read the Ruby guides and documentation. Trying to just "figure out" what Rails is doing and why is a frustrating experience. Taking the time to understand the higher level concepts and methodology

You're missing the point. Some people NEED daily standups and some people will literally quit if they have to do it. That's process. It becomes more difficult when those two individuals are on the same team and then you have to

When I was learning programming, I "wrote" an internal app where a supervisor input some information in a form, it connected to an oracle database and then printed out an outbound manifest for a truck full of car parts. I put &quo

Correct! Although we typically called it "JIT" or "Just in time". The racks get unloaded at the installation point and the buffer is probably 10-15 minutes of parts. That was 22 years ago and I still have the script.
