Color correction (aka white balance) has been one of my biggest struggles in photography and I've seen automatic white balance (AWB) improve very little even in high end SLR and mirrorless cameras over the last 8 years. Some interchang

Sorry to mislead you; I don't work for a protection service but my company has had contracts with a handful of them and I've tested a handful more.

As someone who's had to deal with many DDoS attacks I'm rather horrified at the thought of QUIC: dropping UDP at the network border eliminates a lot of headaches.

I noticed your trees are 60% Robusta and wanted to address the suggestions about targeting boutique coffee houses and higher-end customers: I doubt very much Robusta will be sought after. My understanding is that market for Robusta may be o

The best feature in Windows 11 I've seen so far is the downgrade feature; after I gave it a spin and found the new taskbar to be intolerable the revert to Windows 10 was remarkably painless!

As an avid photographer I thought Instagram would be a good place to share my work but was amazed to find just how photo-hostile it is: I loathe the forced 4:5 portrait aspect ratio and I die inside every time it ignores the embedded ICC pr

The real tragedy of JIT for games is you can't use it on consoles (AFAIK it's always been forbidden as a threat to security). I'm not sure what the rules are for mobile but I'd be surprised if Apple allowed it either.

Yesterday slightly less 2% of Warframe players were still on Windows 7. That's not too far from https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey which is gives a 2.52% average for all Steam games.

I think a = 1, b = 2 would mean !(a & b) = true implying one of them is zero?

I wonder how many projects will be oblivious because they use their own allocator (eg: we use a modified version of Doug Lea's allocator). If the system allocator gets slower people might be more inclined to switch to something custom

I suspect licensing requirements have prevented HEVC from being adopted by streaming platforms; AV1 is an open and free codec in contrast.

As a streamer AV1 encode support is really exciting to me; when I can enable in OBS and stream to Twitch etc getting an Ada GPU would be high on my list of upgrades.

I personally find this sad because multi-GPU is an excellent way to optimize compute/watt for enthusiast scientific computing (Folding@Home etc). Back when I was still contributing power to SETI@home I analyzed the results database and

One thing to consider is the keyboard layout: while I love my 2013 MacBook Air (still humming along long after it's Razer successor died) I always trip over the layout of the ctrl/fn/option/flower keys vs the ctrl[/

I hate shooting at midday and it isn't just because I want to crank my aperture open and blast the background into delicious bubbly soup: it's because I find it unflattering to have people squinting and glaring at the camera. Even

About once a year I try DT but always bounce off of it pretty hard for one very simple reason: my Canon raw images in DT don't look anything like what they do in-camera. I did a studio shoot on Monday: clean strobe light, a tame white

About 20 years ago I ripped the DVD audio to MP3 so I could immerse myself in the amazing soundscapes from this film on the go. The soundtrack is great, don't get me wrong, but I think the sound is magnificent.
